Default okay what should i do...h22 or b series or somethign else....

I ususally dont ask these questions on here, i find they take up a lot of space on this board thats just bs, but i honestly dont know what to do from the options i have avail....

Okay right now i have 95 si hatch with h22a4 and t304e 60 trim...the usual pieced together turbo kit..stock motor.

I know i know they dont last forever and this is why i want to start planning something now or looking into it for that matter.

Should I build the h22 (i.e. sleeves, pistons, rods, rings port head)

Should I just drive till it ***** then try to modify the hacking and put b-series in it.

I always talk to people and there isnt a ton of h22 knowledge because majority have b-series its just the more common better all-around motor. But since I already have it....would it be worth building...and can I make great big par with it? Will tuning it and all of that be as reliable as a b after a build. Just wanan know if its worth it or if i should look into other fields....

Just seems like lotta motor and not enough knowledge...parts...and bigger pain then b-series is...but maybe if its built itll be insane. I dont know just want some opinions thoughts...thanks

I had a turbo 2.2 before and if built correctly, it can be just as reliable as a b series. The issues with boosted 2.2's is when they are boosted stock. If you resleeve the block, throw in some forged pistons and rods, etc., you can make a very powerful, somewhat reliable motor. Just like a b series turbo. I would recommend keeping your 2.2 and going that route instead of starting all over.

I agree. When it goes, rebuild it with forged stuff. It should be decently reliable. It is all in who tunes it. I'm in the same situation.

like alot of them have said,if a 2.2 is built right? why wouldn't be just as dependable as anything else out there.we all know as we go up in hp we go down in drivability.i my self have a 2.2 stroked to a 2.4 w/xs t67bb w/pro race fogger.i am shooting for over 700 with the gas .i have another h22 fully built bottom end if your interested.

but this is my point you are not going to get 100k miles out of a 600 hp daily driven hatch, ask anybody who has that kind of power.we all live for that being sucked back in your seat feeling and along with that comes a price.

Yeah, I agree...i still want a safe reliable 350whp at least...and as of now the h22 just seems harder to dial in then does a b or d series...I dont know why, just seems like lot more to tune with it...only reason i ask if i should continue on to more power or eventually go a different route...
