intake cam 1 tooth off , check your tensioner has the head been butchered , i mean shaved?get a straight edge and line up all 4 marks across the cam gears with the top surface of the head

when you put the tb on you should use a round phillips screwdriver or a punch to hold the cams in place at tdc, there are holes in the cam caps and in the cams that will line up at tdc for #1 cylinder. This helps to hold the cams in place because the valve springs will want to push the cams off tdc.

thats funny, I distinctly remember using them when repairing a poorly put together LS/VTEC motor which was made of a 99 B16 Si head and a 93 LS B18A block.

Re: (Timmay)
ya know what it was I used a different tool on that job, it looked like a wedge shape and it went between the cam gears to hold them in place
