Default OK TURBO heads... what now..?

OK, I am finally heading out to AZ and can start getting serious about my whip. New England winters REEK havoc! My 2000 si has an AEM CAI, and 5 zigen fireball cat back... My horsepower goal is a drivable 300 to the wheels.
I am learning up on Turbos and need your help on what the most logical next mods should be to build up both my top and bottom end. Maybe even some good resources...

ANything you got would JAM! THanXxX

If you really want some serious power potential, then you'll need to resleeve the block and get better pistons, rods, wrist pins, etc. a girdle would be a good idea too...

ok, still learning here, what does a girdle doo and what are wrist pins. also whats the best way to keep detonation from happening. i know makeing sure the engine is getting enough fuel. would hondata be a good idea to keep an wyw on the engine? does it even have a sign of detonation?

u could make your goals with a stock bottom. the most important thing is tuning if u don't have it right u will nuke it. tuning is the key no matter what u build. a girdle connects the main bearing caps strengthening your bottom end, wrist pins are the pins that connect the connecting rod to the piston.

hot potadazz. . i have def heard that tuning is top priority and that WITH a turbo.. i will have to constantly be on top of the maintenance of my engine..

when you weigh "tuning" so heavily are you talking mostly about air/fuel management ? If so.. whats a good way to keep everything in check?

a good bit of it is the air/fuel management, but you also have to considder the valve timing, and intake temperatures. High air temps cause high cylinder temps, which can cause detonation (not to mention, you get better performance from cool air anyway). This is why an intercooler is a good idea, it reduces the intake temps.

As far as the air/fuel management goes, you have to make sure that your engine DOES NOT run too lean. If your engine runs lean, you will detonate and before too long hear a big ole KABOOM. You might need higher capacity fuel injectors.
