Hey i'm planning on boring my B18b1 block. I moved to a new town and im not sure if i should be okay just taking it to any machine shop to get it bored. also i was wondering what should i get it bored to? is it safe to bore it to 82mm? or should i go 81.5 ?

my build plans are lsv
arp rod bolts
arp head studs
rebuilt bottom end rings and bearings
p30 pistons

as far as the head goes im still searching for parts

New here to the site, but since no one has responded I think I would try to find someone local in the scene who seems legit. I don't know if I would go to just anyone.

yeah its my first time trying to get my block bored. It's got a small scratch on my block i'm scared its not gonna hold up so i don't want to take that risk so i thought id just bore it.

dang, yeah best try is to find someone local. I do know of people that would love to do the job, but i dont think you wanna drive 4 hours for that..

Find a local mechanic or parts store that looks reputable and ask them who they recommend, then go check out their prices and see if they seem decent.

i talkd to a couple of people and i hear mixd things about them..so should i just take my block to a napa in stockton ca which is a hour away? since i always drive there anyways
