Ok, so I had no choice but to cut my $180 intake into a 10in tube. What to expect?

After I realised my AEM cai for a gsr wouldnt fit my eg b/c of my change to a skunk2 IM, I had no choice but to cut it into a 10in section coming straight off the intake manifold. I plan on a si cai but its going to be a while (my son is due in about three weeks). Is this straight tube benificial at all? It fees stronger down low, but that may be my imagination.

it will have quicker throttle response, but less top end power. but we are only talking about a 1-2whp differance.
