Also what do you mean open cat? Like no exhaust system past there? Why not just run open header instead?

And to do that will depend on if your state allow there cars that loud.

what year because I think that maybe a newer civc 2001+ may through a code and cause it to run shitty

also unless you have a turbo a open cat will not make a big diff just alot louder maybe 3whp

i ran open cat (no b-pipe and back).. it was so damn loud, i hated it.. putting up with it for a week actually made me hate driving the car.. so i got an exhaust put on..
so to answer your question, yeah you can run it open cat.. but youll hate soon enough.
