Re: Ok now what can I beat with my new VTEC Del Sol? (Sterling)
I tuned a friends VTEC Delly a few times, it's got a bunch of bolt ons, and it's pretty quick. One thing that sucks is the weight, I have an Si hatch, and it's heavy, but his car is even heavier, and with a 1.6, there is little torque. Recently he added an 80 shot and is happy w/it. Most of the hybrid hatches will probably be able to take you on the street and freeway. I highly suggest working on the valve train/cams, in order to take advantage of the high revving B16. As far as what you'll be able to beat, hard to say, if you're a good driver, and the delly is running good, should be able to beat most lightly modded SOHC civics, and some Integ's. good luck

A-*******-men.
Thank you for a sensible opinion on this issue, Rudy. No, they're not as light as a CX hatch, but they're also just a tad heavier than an Si hatch.
Whoever said that they should just about beat a lightly modded SOHC......what the **** are you smoking?? A del Sol VTEC will rip and SOHC VTEC w/bolt ons a new *******, provided you can drive worth a ****.
Get real people, please.

Re: Ok now what can I beat with my new VTEC Del Sol? (Sterling)
The Delsol VTEC 1994+ are slightly lighter than the 99-00 Civic Si's. Both models are equipped with B16A motors. The 94-95 Delsol use B16A3, OBD-I motors, which will be slightly more friendly to modifications than the B16A2 OBD-II motor found in 96-97 Delsol VTEC's and 99-00 Civic Si's. All Delsol VTECs weigh less than the 99-00 Civic Si, with the most significant difference being between the 94 Delsol VTEC and others. The 94 Delsol VTEC is the lightest of the bunch. Basically, if a 99-00 Civic Si can keep up or 'beat' another car, the Delsol VTEC should be equally, if not more, capable.

I think Sterling should say which VTEC (V-TECH) motor he has. There is a big difference in the SOHC VTEC compared to the DOHC VTEC.

A bolt-on SOHC VTEC in the right chassis (with a lot of chassis lightening and good tires) can destroy a Del Sol VTEC stock.
There are no absolutes. It can be done. Grow up, and go wash your mouth out with soap.
