Default Ok is the B20/vtec goin to give me problems in the future

all i see under diff sites is that ls and b20 vtec engines are ****. They say that reliabilty is its downfall. So what kind of life am i looking at if i just want to use it or a street car. Also they said overheating is common, under piston oil squirters is the cause??? Well if anyone has any suggestions on whether or not to drop one of these motors into my EK just reply

lsvtec's last depending on how they are built. If you cheap out on the motor don't expect it to last. If you take your time, spend some money, and do it right, there is no reason the motor won't last.

all you have to remember to do it swap over the vtec oil pump, that is 90% of what the early b18/b20 vtec problems came from.

now you don't hear about any problems. That is a SUPER reliabe engine. I have seen more c5's blow due to abuse than any LS/CRV/vtec engine.

And if you aren't sleeving...go with an LS vtec...and if you are sleeving...go with an lS vtec. b20/vtec is junk for any kind of high compression (over 12.6...they pop the sleeves) or any kind of boost...even mild.

Who is building it? Joe Blow's Mechanic shop or someone reputable?

Another ls/vtec thread. All you have to do is build it RELIABLE!!!! Dont half *** it, bore and hone the block, arp rod bolts and head studs, vtec water/oil pumps, use the proper headgasket...

If your worried about reliability then just buy a crate engine from import builders and call it a day.

Like they all say i guess if u build it right it'll last but the way i look at it is if it was reliable would have build it themselves. Just get a " R"
