Default ok autotranny SWAP question.. will a 94 auto fit on a 97 auto civic..

ok a girl came to the house her car slips in first gear and it catches and starts to shake really bad but then it shifts to second gear.. after it shifts its fine in all the other gears but once it downshifts to 1st again it slips again.. what can this be..

it has a tranny code and it is Incorrect gear ratio?? WTF how can the gear ratio be wrong..

so i have a 94 auto the mounting brakets line up.. but the down shift cable is a servo on a obd2 car.. so i dont think its gonna work..

my question is will it work..

is it the tranny or the tq converter.. because i have a extra tq converter..

what can it be..

Unless I'm out of my mind, in some auto trannies, every gear has its own clutch assembly, sounds like the first gear clutch pack is dead and gone.

Sounds like its time to teach someone how to drive a real car....I mean manual transmission

Before you swap out the trans try a trans flush. I did that on my sis car because she was having this same problem. Turns out pervious owners put regular oil instead of ATF causing the pressure not to be right for shifting. She might be having this same problem.
