I ran against a b swapped eg hatch today with my humble d16y8 ek coupe, and i paced him untill the beginning of 4th gear how could this be?? he looked a bit suprised afterwards

what kind of b series motor was it? maybe he cant drive?

a b16a, the usdm variety

sorry but highly doubt that this is accurate.
because of diff. gear ratios.
in the wide variety of transmission choices.

that is a b series usdm b16a and a d16y8 my friend

well one way or the other it felt good to not get completly raped while i am still stock, and i still need to find a strip around the richmond area... anybody know of one. but thanks for the feedback guys

you do need 2 cams. The guy probably looked surprised because he was thinking "wow....did this guy think I was racing? I'm just going to work."

oh yeah...but what i meant was that d and b series are all interchangeable. and we dont until even this point know what tranny i being used with each motor, altho we know the platform we are unsure of the transmission.
but good point i guess it would'a been pointed out if the trannys weren't cosisted with the motor. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

How do you know what engine he has? Since you say the other driver looked surprised, it makes this sound like it's not someone you know, who could later tell you he was surprised.

i didnt know the guy but we checked out the cars afterwards, that when he looked suprised, im just thinking it was an unhealthy motor
