Default Oil type for honda Engines, Engine types, best swaps

What's good? I'm new to the honda world, got a 98 civic Ex. Plan on swapping int the next months to come. I got a couple of Questions......

1.What is the best oil for the Egine and the tranny when changing the oil?

2. What is the best swap for this vehicle b16 or b18?? and why??

3. What is the biggest difference between these 2 engines?

THX 4 the help

wow you must love helping ppl.

They really is not best oil, the only thing is I would consider using a synthetic oil. I personally use Motul, but Mobil 1 is the popular choice here. I am considering changing to Mobil 1 because Motul is expensive.

The cheapest engine would be the B18b which is a non vtec engine. I am sure you would a like a VTEC engine so the B16 would be the cheaper of the VTEC one. The B18C1 is the GSR which would be the second cheapest and the B18C5 is the most expensive of the Bseries engine.

B16= Si-SIR engine 160 hp and 111 of torque
B18B= LS engine140 hp and 128 of torque
B18C1= GSR engine170 hp and 130 of torque (not 100% sure, I stand corrected)
B18 C5= Type-R engine 195 hp and 130-140 of torque. Considered the King of Bseries

Anybody add if you think of more.

yea.. You should search around before you do anything. Thier is alot of things you can do to your car. Single Cam Turbo's are alot of fun too.. But then you have to think how much you are gonna drive your car and stuff. I would say to look into Single Cam Turbo Kits.. They are Cheap and the power you get isnt bad when you have the right stuff. Plus if you blow your motor you know u can find another one for cheap

it's not that ppl don't want to help, we see these "what engine for my civic" question like 20 times a day. noobs need to learn to search and it will be easier for them to find their answer. as far as what you posted, that's pretty much it in a nut shell.
