Oil on top of valve cover? help!

Default Oil on top of valve cover? help!

Found out theres oil on my valve cover where the spark plug wires go in. why is this happening and how can i fix it? jdm b16 in a 2000 civic SI. just did oil change and spark plugs.

Well for one thing you're missing nuts (at least 4) that hold down the valve cover seals. Oil is leaking through them.

Yea, go buy some cap nuts for your valve cover from Honda like ASAP. Or at least some temporary replacements from Ace Hardware or some place like that.

I had some but took em off when i put on the spark plug wire cover and i tightened it with those bolts. Could that be the problem?

Yea, your valve cover isn't really being held down by anything. Get some nuts torqued down on the valve cover and go from there.

Valve cover nuts and/or sparkplugs oring leaking. Valve cover doesnt need to be tightened down alot.

Yes it goes over the #25 nuts in the pic I posted.

When you pull the plug wires out is there oil in the tube?
If so you also might want to look at replacing part number 25 too.
Those have a tenacy to dry out and allow oil in the tube.

If u really wanna kick the problem get a little Honda bond ht that s**t works wonders it dries fast and stays stuck!!!
