edit:i have a 92 civic dx with a the stock d15b7.
i have oil in my spark plug tubes. i recently replace the whole valve cover set thinking it would fix it ,but it didnt. i put new oem wires in and i read that the oil can mess up the boots, so i want to fix it now.

it must be the rocker o-rings at the bottom of the spark plugs tube. does anyone know a part number to buy these or if they are available at a regular autopart stores. also, how do you replace these? is it difficult? i read you have to do a valve adjustment, and i already have done one of those.

There is a gasket between the top of the spark plug tube and the valve cover. Make sure this seal isn't bad or missing.

I had the same problem on my hatch; replaced the seal and it went away. I'll try to find you a part number.

Not sure what year/model you have, but the below is for a 92-95 EX. They might be the same between models, I'm not sure. It's number 8 in the left picture and number 7 in the right picture.

i already replaced those gaskets as stated in the first post, it's leaking from the bottom, so im trying to find out the part number and procedure for the rocker arm seals.

Remove the rocker assemblies, replace the rocker o-rings, reinstall the rockers, and then adjust the valves.

That's pretty much it, and from what you're saying I'd agree it's the rocker o-rings if you're certain the spark plug tube seals are not pinched anywhere.

it doesnt seem to be running down because only the bottom is covered in oil. there is no evidence that it ran down from the top. are these a dealer only part or are they available at autozone, etc?

also, is this available in a helms manual? i have an online one, so i could just print the pages i need.

I'm confused. How would rocker o-rings get oil in the spark plug holes?

There only two things sealing the spark plug hole that I can think of, the spark plug itself, and the four o rings each at the BOTTOM of the valvecover.

Just thowing out an idea, but maybe valve seals are shot? And excessive oil is getting past the o rings? I dunno....

alright, i've replace the top ones. i read the bottom ones are under the rocker assembly. my problem does not lie elsewhere, how would oil get in the bottom if it's not leaking from the top. rings or valve seals would not cause oil to shoot through my spark plug and sit in the bottom of the spark plug tube. the oil is not on the electrodes of the plugs. it's in the spark plug tubes.

if the bottom seals arent under the rocker assembly, where are they?

thanks for the diagram. are 16 and 17 two different sizes or something? shouldn't there be 4 since there or 4 tubes.

bump. removed all my plugs and soaked up the oil at the bottom of the tubes. plugs are NOT oil soaked and are a light brown color. i put some paper towels around each plug wire to see if it is running down.

is there any way i can just put some gasket maker with a stick or tube around the bottom of the spark plug tube to fix it?

if not will someone help me figure out which part number i need and where i can buy it.

my car is burning oil but not coolant, so i dont think my head gasket is going up.. and i dont see oil in my spark tubes.. so what would someone think is causing it to burn. and we're talking quarts..

thanks echo. ordered the those gaskets as well as an oem vc gasket set. also had to order a stud because im stupid and broke one of mine again trying to tighten it because my pos generic vc gasket is leaking. i knew i was pushing my luck with how tight i was going
