Default Oil in spark plug hole

for reference i have a 93 hatch with a d16zc sohc vtec swap, its turbo as well.

so i was adjusting my plug wires today, just poking around at everything checking hoses ect. one of my plug wires pulled right out and it was full of oil, it went all over the place lol.

I know have some ring issues or something because my VC vent has smoke pouring out of it at all times.

I just put in new wires less than a week ago, so this had have just happened.

I know valve cover gasket and the grommets for the spark plug holes must have gone bad. The thing im failing to understand is that the car is running perfectly fine because of it

This happened to my eclipse before and it ran like complete ****, wouldnt go over 30 miles an hour, and dogged the whole way there so I knew something was wrong. I just found this out on accident, and there no signs of anything being wrong.

spark plug hole grommet. the only way i could see it making the car run poorly is if the oil somehow inhibits the plug's contact inside the wire boot. it would have to get pretty oily and full for that though.

also, have you looked into a catch can for your crank case issue?

make sure your PCV and black box seperator are a-ok. that might be causing excess crank case pressure.

well im not running a catch can setup yet. Ive read alot about them and understand how they should work for the most part, just not sure the best one to go with .

I have the vc venting through a breather, and the pcv valve was still in the car, but it was clogged. I got a new one and i plan on just gutting it and running a hose to ground till i can get a catch can setup. the problem im having is bov is drawing vaccum from the pcv hose so I need to find a better spot to run that.

would have to be so, I just figured it would be with the amount of oil in there.

Dude. Change your gaskets and problem will be solved. Get some valve cover venting and the Endyn catch can and you'll be good to go. It's not going to run bad from leaky gaskets. Stop tripping! !

cool, just figured it would lol. Im sure the catch can will help, but the amount of smoke coming out of my vc would lead me to believe im getting major blow-by even though the compression is all within acceptable levels.
