Default Oil question

I've been thinking about changing the oil in my car from conventional to synthetic. I know it's not normally a hard decision, but the stock d16 has had conventional all of its 187,000 mile life. I know that some people say that switching to full synthetic can do more harm than good on an engine used to one thing....

Anyone have any problems with switching to synthetic at high mileage....?

if your sohc d16 is basically stock and running fine, stay with conven. 5-30 oil. saves you money.

they are called "myths" my friend. If you car is in good operational condition, you will have no problems changing to synthetic oil.

I just changed my oil in my sohc beater 1.5 L that has 160k.

Amsoil has a engine cleaner that recomends using when you change your oil from conventional to synthetic.

you already have 187,000 miles. not to mention it's stock. leave it alone. stay with the conventional and save some money.

hmm, IMHO thats why you should go with synthetic.

last longer
protects better
its cost effective
less oil changes you have to do

win win in my oppinion.
