oil pump question
alrite i'm going to port and shim my oil pump, i was gunna buy a new one, but i'm just gunna use my original one.
anyway, do i need to replace all the O rings? what if i dont? and where can i get them if i need to
and also, how do i get the crank pulley bolt out? i dont have an impact gun, i was thinking of buying a breaker bar if i needed too, but dont i need something to keep the crank pully in place? how do i do that? in haynes it says to use a chain wrench, but i dont have one of them

depends on how much torque your impact gun has that decides if you need a breaker bar...why would you not just replace the oil pump considering it one of the most important things on an engine??? thats just my opinion

Re: oil pump question (vtecb18c)
i dont have an impact gun
and i called the honda dealersihp today and i was gunna buy a new one, but then the guy said that they usually never replace them. he said they dont really wear like water pumps and stuff, and that theyre usually on the engine for its entire life, so after he said that i figured i'd save 100 bux

Re: oil pump question (pjr710)
all belts and pumps should be changed at aroung 50-60k miles IMO....since you dont have an impact gun, you are gonna need something to keep the pulley from moving by dont waste your money on a breaker bar...i found a peice of rebar on the side or the street and still use it sometimes to this day...if your in a rush than i guess you can run out and get a nreaker bar
