oil pump for d16z6? (goin turbo by this year)
Is their a specific oil pump i should be buying? well what i'm saying is does it have to be honda b/c i found and itm oil pump for for 74.82 and i can spend 150 or w/e it cost for a oem one but dont want to if i found something cheaper....
I plan on boosting at least 18-23 psi, what happen was i blew a whole in the block and oil went everywhere so i found another z6 so im working on my internals and shop told me i should go ahead and get a new OIL PUMP, water pump etc even though i dont need it, but i dont know if i really need to buy one, i've never had a problem with mine in the past.

what exactly is your question? should you get a new oil pump? yeah, if youve got teh motor out, hell yeah, w/p, motor out? hell yeah, theyre not hard to change, but they are SOOOOO much easier when they are out of the car. if your running that much boost i would assume that all your internals are new also, probably aftermarket and your probably putting a pretty penny into this motor, so why not change/upgrade everything that will keep these parts in the top running order possible?

New oil pump is $117

If I was trying to save every last dime, I would use a used Z6 pump. Some would say that's crazy, but I've never heard of one going out. lol. But, if you're going super macho D series than the piece of mind is worth $117.
