Re: oil presure gauge (civictildeath)
Do it yourself. A little teflon tape and a couple hours later you should be done.
Did you get the mechanical unit? I'd be wary of running pressurized oil lines into my cabin.

buy yourself an oil filter sandwich plate and use that to screw the sensor into that plate. Golden Eagle I believe makes one. Either that or get a hold of the adapter fast-turbo.com has.

On the back of your block, just above your oil filter, there is a little V looking connector (if your looking up laying on your back at the oil filter). If you pull that off, the stock oil pressure sensor is right there.
You can get a T and run the stock oil pressure sensor and the mechanical sensor off of the other side.

whats so unsafe about an oil pressure gauge in the car? granted a fuel pressure gauge is ILLEGAL to have in your car, i dont understand the issue with the oil gauge

okay. get a T fitting from somewhere. i belive its 1/4npt. to the left or above your oil filter, there is a wire and a boot. peel back the boot, pull the wire off without breaking it. youll see a sensor. unscrew the sensor. get fittings to make the T work, put the oil pressure sensor IN the T. run your oil pressure line, ensuring that the fittings are tight and sealed (use teflon tape) reinstall the t fitting just as you took the sensor out (you might have to remove your oil filter) then hook up your gauge.

Still pressurized oil. If the guage breaks do you want a bunch of oil flying in your car?
EDIT: A bunch of HOT oil

Re: oil presure gauge (hcivic99)
I didnt know it was illegal but if i was to get into an accident i dont want oil/fuel getting all into my car or on me. As of now my car is street driving (except for the fact it down for the winter for some new parts ) With the mechanical gauges the oil/fuel goes all the way up to the gauge itself (not sure about the other kinds). Its more or less for safety, not sure about legal issues.

I'm pretty sure they make guages that are mechanical to a point with the oil, then there is a spacer or something, and there is only water that runs into the car.
Either that or there is a mechanical line that runs to an electronic sender that sends the signal to the guage.

Re: oil presure gauge (hcivic99)
if you use the T beware that it WILL brake and YOU WILL get oil every wear. Either get that sandwich filter. or PM flamenco-t about getting the Firewall mount kit for the Oil pressure gauge. also, IF I WERE YOU i would order some SS lines to run to the gauge, that lil POS plastic **** NO way i would trust it.
