Default Oil Pressure Gauge quick question?

I had my oil pressure gauge in my old motor and never hooked up the oil pressure switch (the light that lights up the oil low light), I was just wondering if you can T it to run the oil pressure gauge and the oil (pressure switch) so both work, is this making scence? man I hate trying to explain things lol.....

Thats how its supposed to work, you run a 1/8" npt "T" fitiing and teflon all the fittings and plug in the oem pressure switch and the oil gauge fitting and thats it.
