oil pan QUESTION??
HEY THERE guys. i need a new oil pan for my 96 civic ex and was wondering if i coul use any D-series oil pan or do i have to get a oil pan exactly for the 96 civic ex? please let me know thanks

the bolt patterns are the same, BUT the y8 motor uses a different style oilpan (cast aluminum) thats thicker than the y7 oilpans (all DX,CX, LX) which have this pathetic tin can of a pan. Although, the y7 pans tend to dent when bottomed out, whereas the "cast" y8 ones can actually shatter from being so solid, so when it comes to a lowered car, the y7 pan would actually take a hit better compared to the y8 one which woudlnt flex at all.
