Oil Pan Gasket with Silicone??

Default Oil Pan Gasket with Silicone??

MY 98 civic's Oil pan is leaking.....so I need a new oil pan gasket. Would you recommend putting some silicone on top of the new gasket just for an extra seal ensuring that it won't happen again?

Maybe you should put some Hondabond on it.

black rtv silicone would work fine. or toyota's fipg (form in place gasket) aka "fippage".
