Default Oil pan gasket

ok i have a pretty bad oil leak in my car, about 1 quart leaks every 1500 - 2000 miles.

im gonna pick up an oil pan gasket tomorrow (since there is oil all over the oil pani believe thats the culprit)

i know i have to drain the oil out, and i have a helms manual, is there anything else i should know.

it looks to be pretty straight forward. but i wanna make sure

15 views and no answers, this isnt that difficult a question. just lemme know if this is all i have to do.

drain oil, unbolt pan, clean it while its out, new gasket, rebolt, fill with oil.

take off exhast, undo pan, reseal it with new gasket ( i always put a dap of Honda RTV on each corner.

Make sure on the oil pan itself you clean it off REALLY good, and on the studs make sure the little O looking rings didn't come off the oilpan and stick there, if they did your leak won't go away

Yea your going to need to take off your header from the head. Depending on your exhaust setup that might be all or youll have to take off the whole header.

Its a pretty straight forward job.

isn't that a two piece? if it is just a one piece, then no you have to take off the header

make sure you dont over torque the bolts
it will either break or the gasket will smash too much and leak

i think the stock one is a two piece, i prefer to do it wihtout having to take that thing off, cause i dont wanna have to replace a gasket for that and the oil pan.

You will also have to remove the flywheel cover.
