you could have a new fitting from Earls or something similiar welded on.

or you could thread it a little bigger, and get a bigger bolt, with washer.

see if you can re tap it, or possibly drill it out and tap a new hole. But buying the tools and taking the time, depending on what engine, it would be easier to just get a new pan

Or you can go to Discount Auto parts and buy a universal drain bolt that expands inside as it's tightened. I've been doing this for months now, sadly. It's a $3, one time use thing, but CAN be reused if necessary. Works like a charm and doesn't leak.

I'd also like to point out that I'm pretty sure the aluminum in the oil pan is too thin to use a tap and die set on. I don't think even a helicoil will work

I wonder, could you drill a new hole next to the old bolt and just use that for the new bolts?

i also have the same problem on my B18A1 (91 Integra). at one time, i wrapped teflon tape around the bolt and it worked. when i tried to do it again, it worked for a day and then started to leak, drop-by-drop but very very slowly. it'll probably still have enough oil until my next oil change. i probably have to use more teflon tape next time.

Wierd, I tried the teflon tape but that didn't work for ****.

and not sure if the universal one is supposed to be permanent. Change them every oil change and you shouldbe fine.

You'll have to find a good pan. The aluminum ones are ****. Apparently, honda used the white metal pans on sohc vtec cars to help cool the oil. I don't think the d16z6 has one though, they are steel. My brother had a stripped plug on his ex and the dealer would have fixed it for $300. They said if they tried to retap the pan, it would crack down the middle. You might be able to get a steel pan to fit up, but I think one of the bolts won't line up. you'll have to redrill. A cast aluminum oil pan is the worst idea in the world. By the way, my brother and I live in Lansdale. If you are interested in his old pan with the stripped bolt, his name is tinkfist on this forum. If you wanted to try to rethread his old pan without removing yours, we have one sitting around. I would definitly seek a permanent fix.
