Oil light Flicker help?
Every once in a while when I turn on my car, my oil light will flicker REALLY fast RIGHT as I start my car, and then it will stop. I have plenty of oil in my car, I change it every 2k-3k miles and I use penzoil 10-30. I have a 1994 EJ1 with a d16z6 motor and AT. Is this bad, or is it normal? Please help me solve this.
I tried checking codes, but it wouldn't work. I stuffed a paper clip in the wire to complete the circuit, turned my key to the accesorry position, but my SRS light just flashed. I then disconnected my ECU to try and restart it, but it still flashed my SRS light. Please help, thanks.

It's just your car starting up. Initially, it has low oil pressure, but once it reads acceptable psi, it shuts off. Just part of start-up. It could be signs of something bigger, though. Mine does it every once in a while, but I'm not concerned, it usually happens when I put her away wet.

Yeah, mine doesn't do it EVERY time, only once in a while, I was just concerned since it was my oil light. I've read, where if your oil light does come on, it's too late and your engine internals are already toast.

sounds to me that your oil pressure sucks at start up. Try using a 5w-30. You could try a smaller diameter filter too. But, it may be your bearing's clearance. You have a oil pressure gauge? If so whats the readings at higher rpms

that is a problem the oil light only comes on when your low on oil . if you have worn rod or main bearings (pump cant provide enought pressure to fill the clearences) bad oil pump or clogged pick-upscreen. how does the motor sound any unusual noise?tapping knocking? you might want to bumb up the weight of your oil to a 15w-30

your fine, yeah its your engine starting up. oil pressure is pressure, it uses a pump, it takes this pump a sec to get pressure. I use amsoil 5W-30, and its a great oil, my light stayes on for a full second sometimes, but thats fine. Its so slick, my idle is about 300rpm lower than before i did a engine flush and started usin it. Its not oil pressure thats a problem, its oil FLOW. They don't measure that, don't know why. ANyone?
