Default oil light on , cranks but no start and no fuel pump prime

Hi H-T , I just searched 10 pages with " oil light " but couldn't find a definate answer.

I was driving the car pretty hard and when I was coming to a stop , the car rolls and just shuts off and the oil light instantly turns on . I tried to turn the car back on and it just cranks but does not start . I try to listen to the fuel pump prime but there is no prime .

So now when I put the key into "on" position , ONLY the oil light comes on ; no other light comes on .

Please help me out H-T and let me now what I need to check .

Thanks

- Billy

The CEL should illuminate for 2 seconds and then turn OFF when the key is turned to ON(II).

In addition to the fuel pump not priming, do you also lack spark?

You'll want to start by checking the important ground wire connected to the thermostat housing and the main relay.

What year Civic?

The CEL does not turn on at all .

I will check for spark tomorrow during the day .

I checked out the main relay, is it suppose to click when the key gets turned to the "ON" position ? If so, it does not make any noise at all.

Bad wire, poor ground on the thermostat housing, or bad ECU.

I'm going with the ECU. You should have more than the oil light, and if the fuel is not priming, I'm thinking the ECU is gone. I hope not though.

it could be the ECU if the CEL is not comming on. Because a bad ground will cause the Main Relay to click and the CEL will come on. Either that or his CEL light is blown?

so to check the ECU , I should remove the AEM and just plug in any ECU just to see if the CEL light comes on ?

Anyone would know what would cause the AEM to just go ?

I just followed the steps on the flow chart and I did ground terminal A13 and the CEL indeed turned on . So I will try to get a stock ecu and plug it in .

Thanks for the help fellas . I will follow-up .

I replaced the ECU , check engine light comes on but still no fuel pump prime.

Good news is the AEM EMS is fine , bad news is still no fuel .

I'll keep researching but any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

have to see if your gettign power to the fuel pump would be next step. sounded like you have two problems. it takes two seconds to take off the the cover under the backseat.
