oil filter
Hi I got a question if I go to honda and get a s2000 oil filter (What year should I say?) would it fit a 1995 del sol vtec ? I heard the older oil filters are just frams... Sorry if this has been asked before.

I have no idea eran told me its better than the del sol ones. Something about the old oil flters made by fram (honeywell or something)

S2000 filters were made by a different company...
Who? I dont remember...
Are they still? I dont know...
Are they different sizes? Yes, it is smaller, promoting higher pressures.
Will it fit? Yes.
I want to say that the current oem honda filters are made by fram (which is why i do not buy them anymore)

Ya when I did my last oil change I bought the filter for my car and it was made by honeywell and it costs $25 (I bought it at the dealership) so now when I change my filter again I am just going to get an s2000 filter it won't cause problems right ?

I haven't had any negative effects, i like it because of the larger capacity, meaning more filter material, I was unsure when I first thought about using so i checked what mobil 1 lists for both cars, civics and s2000's are the same part # for mobil 1 m-104, so that clears fitment issues. as far as raising oil pressure idk, inever had an oil pressure guage hooked up to my car.
downsides the s2000 is like $2-3 more than the regular civic filters at the dealership

WHAT!! $25 for an oil filter??? Why??? Just buy a Mobil 1 or K&N for $10 and call it a day.

honda uses just 1 filter now. they are all the same. might be 1 or 2 that are odd like the acura legends and nsx. but other than that honda uses the ph3593a fram. my friends that work at honda and acura dealers, they get a box full of filters on the weekends to do all their oil changes. all the cars that come in uses the same filter.
and 25 bux for a honda filter is a lot. i use my filters from work that i get for 2 bux

a filter of a nisson works but i forgot wich one i think its of the sentra. gotta check with a friend what he uses. alot smaller then honda and increases oil pressure

Fram is absolutely 100% fine, I just put one on my car - they've been around for awhile and aren't going anywhere.
As for which car?
The RSX and S2k ones are smaller, so it ups ur oil pressure by about 1-3psi, so if you wanna try to go for that get an RSX or S2K oil filter - it'll screw right on.
