oil in distributor cap
i just put a gsr in my eg coupe this past weekend. the distributor cap has oil in it and i planed on replacing it eventually but not right away because the car drove fine saturday. tuesday i drove it and it wouldnt start at first then while driving it it would sputter a lot. i cleand the iacv that day to because the idle was going up and down, but i dont think cleaning that would cause this problem but the problem started right after i did that. every day since the car wont start at first and sputters. i think its the distributor causing the problem but just wanted to see if anybody else had this problem.

i was told when the bearing goes bad in a distributor it alows oil to leak into the cap and basicly make the whole dist. bad. basicly just wondering if that most likley the problem or if i should check something else.

that is true, when the bearing goes it destroys the seal first then leaks oil into the cap.
You can replace the bearing if you are mechanically inclined and a decent place to work.
