Default Oil cooler

Car is a 92 civic hatch back, motor is a zc/z6 with p29 pistons.

I know with he higher compression the cars gonna run a little hotter, i am running e85 but still worried about temps.

I am gonna drive the car hard, drag days, drag racing. the car does everything. expect daily driving. question is can a stock oil pump(not ported and shimed) handle the oil cooler without loosing pressure and starving the engine? i could install in and see what the oil pressure gauge tells me but i rather here from other peoples who might have done it

thanks guys

I really don't think you need an oil cooler for what you're doing. It's a NA D series that you're gonna drive hard for short periods of time. What kind of compression are we talking here? 13:1?

Still...you don't need a cooler. But...I have seen a few road course cars with coolers. I don't believe anyone upgrades their pumps. It's just moving another 1/2qt of fluid thru some lines and a cooler.

Yes compression is gonna be around 13.1. We do drive through so cal canyons which can be for ten minutes at a time up hill. It does sound short but couldnt the temps still rise and cause oil not to lube as well?

So starving shouldnt be a problem?

You're not doing any real tracking so not need if you were doing time attack then maybe but even I wouldn't run one on my dc2. if you haven't already invest in a good rad/t-stat water wetter etc.

i plan on going to button willow and doing track days so its gonna be pushed hard. Im using stock rad my friend has a dual core and his car seems to run hotter then mine. themostat will be upgraded, also go gonna try water wetter. Have a thermal gasket to keep manifold temps down, heat wrapping exhaust manifold, heat reflective tape will be on the manifold, oil pan and also the oil filter.
