A lot of things may be wrong but first try replacing the rubber seals that are on the inside of your valve cover. There's 4 of them that separates the oil from the spark plugs.

take off the valve cover and check your gaskets the O-Rings is what blu3g is referring to. the o-rings are circular gaskets that stop oil from getting into the spark plugs. Buy a gasket kit from local parts store for like $50 bucks and you can install it using gasket glue.

You can either have bad valve seals or bad rings. How's your car run? If it feels sluggish, you may have to re-ring your pistons. If not, like the others said, replace your seals. If it is your seals, they have to be real bad or gone. Oil normally (when bad) slips by them slowly, pooling in the combustion chamber and then burning off the next time you start your car.

The car doesnt run too good. It does feel sluggish when the car is running. How do you get to the pistons to re ring them or replace them? Also, the check engine light blinks off and on the last time I was driving it.

Check the code and see what it reads. And if your rings are fried your pretty much f#cked unless you know how to, or know someone who knows how to replace them. I'm only saying this because I don't have much money but you might be in another situation, financially.

If worst comes to worst.. how much you think the parts will cost? and how long the job will take?
To repace the rings.. do you have to pretty much take the whole engine apart?

Rings won't cost that much. It's pretty much everything else that adds up. You're gonna need a new head gasket, and if your head studs are old you might want to replace them as well. If your bearings for your rods are old I would recommend you replace them too. Then you need time to basically tear down your engine because it's not easy getting to the pistons.
