oil in boost gauge line

Default oil in boost gauge line

i was looking under my hood the other day and noticed that my vac/boost gauge had oil in it. any idea on what could cause oil to get in that line? my car is no turbo any more allmotor.

I had oil in my vac lines when i blew my motor. Your case could have been bad turbo seals.

well theres no turbo on it. could bad valve seals, guids cause it?

You sure there wasnt any oil in the line when you were turboed? Are you running a PCV/Catch can thats hooked up to a manifold vacum? If so then that could be it. Other then that theres no way oil will back track into the manifold (that i could think of) with a healthy running motor.

yeah i had a catch can then i put the pvc into the intake that probly the cause right

you wont get oil in your vacuum lines from bad piston rings or valve seals.

yeah ever since i hooked up the pvc to the intake my car started to smoke and now it seems to be ok. but can a pvc cause a car to smoke constantly

yes if your PVC is bad it can cause you to burn oil.

is there a certain way to check if it's bad? i put a peice of paper on it and it held it there. so is it ok?

shake it.. if it rattles it should be fine, if it doesnt then its bad
