Default oh jebus

um k, im a little confused. i have a general understandin that vtecs are kick a$$ but what exactly is a "vtec" and why do they make so much power. also is a d15z1 a vtec motor. flame if you want but i have searched about it and all i got are wtb posts.

Its just variable valve timing, pretty much every car company uses it these days. Most honda vtec engines use variable valve timing for more power. The others (like yours) use it for better milage and emissions.

vtecs are when the main rotor gears spins along it's axis. It only happens sometimes when you give it alot of gas, but you can feel more power.

the motor that is in your car has nothing to do with your knowledge of hondas. Plenty of people pay to have others swap motors in their cars, and plenty of honda genuises drive near stock hondas. Regardless of whether that is your car or not, you don't know what you're talking about.
