Default Oh Crap...Somehow My Front Bumpers Got Pulled Off....

I drive a 96 Civic Hatchback. My driveway is pretty long, and then it turns in, and I park near a little curb. I know I wasn't paying attention or something, and I scraped the curb with my front bumper. And I don't know what I was thinking about, I guess I thought my tires touched the curb, and not the bumper. So I backed up a little, and then went forward and parked the car. This morning I went outside, and realized that the left side of my front bumper got pulled off, it must of been the curb. I haven't told my dad yet, too scared to bring it up right now. Is there anyway to fix this myself? I don't know very much about cars and stuff, but I'm a bit desperate. If not, how much do you think it'll cost to get it replaces? Gahh what was I thinking!

*beats myself*

Edit: Here are some pictures. Sorry they might not be the best, it's at night. Ill take some better ones tomorrow.

Your bumper is held on by several screws, bolts and nuts in several locations. On top of the bumper, where the bumper mets the fender, and some plastic screws that hold the fender liner.

What part is broken?
Is you bumper cracked?
Just see what is broken and figure out if you can re attach the broken part.
If you are unable to figure out whether or not you can fix it by yourself, you can post a picture and we can try to help you.

Its hard for us to tell you how much it iwll cost to fix if we don't know what it looks like or ahve an idea where it tore off from.

EDITED: Took out all the uneccessary flaming, I'm a dick.

If you were going to belittle him for a mistake he admittedly said was stupid, why even bother posting, I'm sure someone else will come along and try to help him out. I hope you never post for help.

You're right it was uncalled for. Felt irritated that he posted with such limited information; too little for any of us to try to effectively help him. And I'm sure someone else will come along and try to help him out as well; however, along with the stupid remarks I made, I also attepted to help.

I've posted for help, but I always try to give as much information and detail as possible for others to try to help me, and never ask for help without attempting to fix/solve the problem myself. But in gbadude's case, how much can we say or help him about "left side of my front bumper got pulled off".

All in all, that's my justification for my initial rude comments. Sorry.

Something similar happened to my bumper yesterday. All you ahve to to is pull the bumper up (grab the edge and pull a little nit out and up) that way you will clear the black metal thing. The bumper will nestle nicely inbetween that and the bottom of the head light. And if you want you can tuck the fender liner (that is the black plastic sheet that is bihind the wheel. As you can see it wraps around towards the front of the wheel. It needs to be tucked into teh bumper. so that the edge doesnt flap around. that is the easiest and quickest fix. the very point/corner that you see in the red box in the above post has a littel lip with a hole in it. that lines up with the fender (piece of metal body over teh wheel) where it lines up should be a plastic piece for a screw to screw in. If it is not there, but the holes are intact go to a hardware store and get a bolt, matching washer, and nut and bolt it together. hope that helps.

Hell, I've use a zip-tie to hold my bumper up before.

At the least make a attempt to push it back on and see what you have from there.

Yeah, just zip tie it for the moment so your dad doesn't get mad or anything, then go somewhere and get it fixed.

to parents who think that damaging a car is the end of the GOD DAMN WORLD

I can't seem to get it put back on. It seems as if the bottom of the front bumpered got pulled and bent, now I can't get it back to its original position. Here are some pictures...
