Default The Official Boosted H22 EG Thread

I've started this thread to thoroughly track the progress of my 1994 Honda Civic EX. Since May of 2004, I've invested well over $15000 in performance upgrades and a full engine rebuild. Soon I'll be testing the quality of some Mahle Gold Series pistons by boosting the car with a Garrett T4/T61 turbo setup.

The boost setup will be tuned and installed by Hybridynamics in Youngwood, PA. Tentative date is set late March to early April. Until then I will be rebuilding the transmission, building a reliable axle setup (which is a huge problem w/ H series swaps), and replacing all bushings with polyurethane Energy Suspension bushings.

I plan on adding photos very soon, so that come summer you can see all the progress that has been achieved. It will also be repainted after the turbo is installed. One major key is the durability of the Mahle pistons in an unsleeved iron bore H22 block.

I'll go ahead and list key upgrades so that everybody following has an idea of where this project is going.

- Custom LOG Manifold And Downpipe

I'll add more to the list later, but for now there's a good idea of the direction in which we are headed.

Before this becomes a flamed thread, I want to say I'm not looking for feedback just quite yet. I'd appreciate some positive comments/suggestions, but I only created this thread to just start from square one. It could honestly get archived until I make a move on the turbo. Just felt as if I'd be one of the first to give an in-depth walkthrough on the build, especially with the Mahle pistons.

Thanks for looking,
Bob
