Default Off-Road Del Sol Experiment

I was curious about modifying a 94 Honda Del Sol for off-road use. Does anyone have any thoughts on what all would be necessary? I'm looking for use mainly on sand as a dune buggy.

Thanks,
Jacob

Custom springs, control arms, steering, enough clearance for M/Ts...then again, FWD SUCKS in the sand.

you could try to do a conversion to 4wd, my friend did it to his probe. he needed to buy tons of stuff for it, total cost was like 3500

Get a CRV drivetrain, work from there.

I think you'd be better off building a sand rail and just using the motor and seats or something. Del sols were not meant to be off road cars.

I guess you could just take the drivetrain subframe and suspension off a CRV, but then again you could just get a crv.

Hey, why not?? Which super street article was it some time ago listing a article about a rally type r wining races, creaming 4wd cars. Yet again rally seems to be all about the driver and his skill.

Well if you are planning on taking it in the sand, then 4WD is a must, you will not get far with FWD. Its going to cost you a lot of money to do this, you might be better off getting something thats meant for off-road, unless you've just got a lot of time & money to spare. But good luck either way.

there has been an awd teg before. if i remember correctly it was in hondatuning the mag. i see no point in making an AWD sol. just sell the sol and get a subaru or dsm then go from there. as stated about the chassis flex would suck *****. but on the otherside it would be cool to see a rally sol.
