OEM style FAL fan? or universal? is the OEM style worth it?

I just bought a fluidyne rad and I'm going to need a slim fan. I'm wondering wether the bolt on fan is worth the extra $100 compared to mounting the universal one up. has anybody used a universal on a 92-00 rad? is there a probolem with it? or should I just sack up and buy a oem fit one?

Dont know bamboo, I just got one of those slim universal ones from kragen... I'll let you know if it breaks down on me. Been working fine so far...

I have a Fluidyne radiator with the OEM style FAL fan. Fits perfectly.

It seems as if they are the same exact fan, and I'm just paying $100 extra for the mounting brackets and a plug. hey B16Drag, how do you have your universal one mounted? any pics?

my big worry is about mounting it, how does one go about mounting the universal type? FAL recommends using nylon bolts THOUGH the fins of the rad, that doesn't seem like a horrible idea, but I have to question how well it could hold.
