OEM rear sway bar sizes..?
 

Been searching, but I can't seem to find the info I need. I just have a simple question, does anyone know the sizes of available OEM rear sway bars for my EG hatch?

How thick is the 92-95 Si rear sway bar?
Are LS and GSR rear sway bars the same thickness? How thick are they?


I know most people around here just go for the ITR bar upgrade, but I'm thinking that perhaps it might be a little too much overkill for my featherweight CX hatch. As of right now my car is completely stock, but since I have plenty of time before I can start paying for mods, I'd like to research heavily into every subject before I make a decision.

I've been getting into Auto-x a lot recently, so that's about the only track time it will see. It's a daily driver. I just don't like the idea of having such a stiff bar as the ITR while I'm driving down the freeway, or doing some major highspeed turns. As of right now the car is VERY forgiving when I'm pushing it in the turns, and while I do want to reduce the body roll a LOT, I DON'T want to have a majorly twichy rear-end.

If it makes any difference, I've been considering going with 'sport' Omnipower coilovers - mostly for the performance per dollar factor. I'm just trying to find an exceptional balance between feel, performance, and price.

integra stock sway bars are 14mm, as well as the civic si's. the american ITR has a 22mm rear sway, and the JDM ITR has a 23mm sway

I'm thinking that while a 14mm bar would definitely be beneficial over having none at all, it would seem like it's a little too thin/flimsy for what I would like. Maybe I'll have to start looking at aftermarket alternatives for something inbetween the ITR and the lesser 14mm bars...

13mm also comes on certain 92~95 4 door sedans.

On my Si, the stock sway bar feels a little weak..im thinking of upgrading to the ITR..only heard good things about it. Just make sure ur re-enforce ur subframe.

I also have a quick question, for the 00 Si, if I want to install a ITR sway bar, should I also re-enforce my subframe? Or is it ok since I already have a factory Sway bar?

^Yes, reinforce. The em1 only has the plates on the back/inside of the subframe.
