Default NEW clutch slipping at high rpms??????????

i have a brand new rebuilt type r swap im using a f1 racing stage 2 clutch kit with a 9 lb flywheel. The clutch pedal needs to be almost completly let off to barley ingage it. Its grabs but feels like a very slow pickup and i did put 600 mileso n it before geting on it. I have had many clutches and havent had this problem at all. When i get on it i shift around 8rpm and power shift it and it sits at 6rpm for at least 2secs than u feel it pull again. Its like something is not releasing fast enough if anyone could help me out would be appreciate. ONly things i can come up with is a weak pressure plate, bent fork , or going bad slave cylinder lmk anyone

if it was the slave, the clutch pedal would drop to the floor and not come back, sometimes you and pump it by hand and bring it back but it requires an immediate replacement. you won't get far heh.. sounds like you're already burning the disc or the plate to me but that's my .02

i have bled it many time but the thing is the pedal feels real easy to psuh down like the pressure plate is weak or something. it runs ok grabs the power but when i get on it slips when shifting to fast it sits at the rpm for at least 2 secs than starts to pick up

Where'd you buy the clutch/flywheel?

It sounds like an OEM-style clutch problem.

Any stage 2 clutch grabs so fast you can barely do regular take offs for about 2 weeks.

Stage 2 clutch in an H22 EJ I drove, it grabbed when I barely let off the pedal.

Also, is that you in your avatar? You're pretty.

it has a vibe coming from the pedal when im on the gas thats all. and sometimes the fork shake making noise. i dont know but i feel that this cheap ebay f1 clutch feels very spongy really really easy to push down on. I have stage 3 act on my otehr hatch and it grabs and chirps the tires with the same setup. Could i have a weak pressure plate for my motor. My motor makes about 220 hp

Wow, you're like a dream girl or something.

Anyway- If it's a cheap brand clutch then chances are it's not a very strong clutch to begin with.

No stage 2/3 clutch will feel "soggy" or "soft". They might be easy to press, but that's just good engineering. A good stage 2/3 clutch will grab as soon as you let off. You will get moderate acceleration barely letting the clutch grab.

Chances are the clutch is crap. I'd see about returning it as soon as possible. You don't want to risk messing up your gears or flywheel using some no-name clutch.

Don't go cheap on your ****. OEM spec clutches will hold up better than poorly engineered ones.

If you're putting down 220 to the wheels in a 4 cylinder (Hopefully an H22) then you need a good clutch. I'd recommend an ACT Stage 2 at the bare MINIMUM, and strongly recommend using ACT Stage 3 kit with all the goods to go with it, throw out bearing, etc.

If you're putting down 220 in a B, then you should never even THINK of using an Ebay clutch. That's just asking to have to replace your clutch every 5000 miles, if that.

not pushing 220 whp on flywheel hp but is very soft and very easy to push down might be that is a f1 clutch pull great only when start to race it and power shift at 8200 rpm and when it comes back down at around every shift is puases like its slipping than starts to pick up again its like i shift faster tahn my pressure plate can catch the disc or maybe doesnt have enough pressure to grab the power lmk

That means it's a bad clutch. As long as your engine is spinning at that RPM then the clutch is supposed to grab, that's what it's there for.

Most clutch kits I've seen come WITH the pressure plate, throw out bearing. Take that **** back, girl.

What kind of engine do you have? 220 to the flywheel is either a lightly modded H22 or a head/block modded B16/18 Vtec.

Will you marry me?

ACT stage 2 is really good... Have you checked out the performance parts section on Honda marketplace here on this forum? They have really good deals on parts, clutches, etc.

I bought my distributor through there, and I'm planning on getting a chipped ECU, clutch, intake and full catback exhaust through them.

First off i wanna say that i love a woman who knows her **** about cars. Second im having the same problem but i got the car like that. Guy i got the car from said he just put a new clutch in. Clutch does good under regular driving conditions but soon as i stomp ob the gas and ****** 2nd at between 55k-7k rpms it slips. The pedal feels good but its like as soon as i give the pedal a lil pressure (push the pedal down about 1 1/2") the clutch is disengaged and i can shift. Its like 2" of play in the pedal before i can feel the pressure of the pedal then after that point it like 1 1/2" down then the clutch is disengaged and i can shift. The car is stock d16y5 so im not making any power yet lol but im guessing the guy lied. Im gonna get a new clutch soon tho

9 year old thread

You've been around long enough to know better. What the ****? Don't bump a ******* 9 year old thread. Ever. For any reason. Especially don't bump it when your bump makes it painfully ******* obvious that you haven't even TRIED any of the solutions mentioned in the thread already.

Since this 9 year old thread got bumped and may be stumbled on again.

F1 clutches have many negative reviews so are considered a low quality downgrade to OEM clutches, let alone performance clutches like ACT.

Thread closed to prevent future bumps.
