OEM, or ordered from Advanced?
Hey guys.
I'm currently looking into some parts for my cars, and just wanted your guys's two cents.
Anyways, the parts that i'm looking into buying is a IACV, and a FPR, or fuel pressure regulator. Should I strictly stick with a high dealership price, or should I go through Advanced auto parts?
Dealership = 294 + tax for the IACV, 180+tax for the FPR.
Advanced has those both on sale for atleast 100$ less, on the IACV, and about 40-50$ less on the FPR for my car. Which would you guys choose? Does anyone know of any quality difference between the two?

For stock applications OEM is best but since dealerships are crooks, it might be a good idea to go with an aftermarket part. Quality varies. For certain parts, you can have a few companies making the same part using different materials. I'm not too familiar which companies make the aftermarket IACV and FPR so I can't comment on the quality but it will probably work as long as it's a stock replacement.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. The parts I am ordering, are not performance based. Just based off of what the OEM specifications are for the parts.
I Guess as I've always been told.... "If you're unsure, go with OEM."

In my opinion, you don't have to spend those big bucks on OEM stuff. You're okay with just using replacements. They're much cheaper and do the same job (just make sure they're replacements and not some different part).
Good luck!

At the OEM online parts dealer www.bkhondaparts.com, I see the EACV for the 99 Si at $177 and the FPR at $78. Add maybe $10 for s/h.

You can find those parts for under $75/shipped for both through the classifieds here, less on craigslist. They are 2 very uncommon parts to fail on a Honda Civic/Teg, so you won't be likely to find junk. Just don't buy from a shady character.
