I got an OEM front lip for my 92 Civic hatch from a friend. It had been primered, so I painted it flat black again and went to put it on the car. It won't cover the original black molding completely...there's about a 1/4" showing all around the top and it won't completely sit flush at the ends. This is an OEM lip, so what gives?

that's how it is. i didn't like it either so i just drilled some screws from the the bottom of the lip to the bumper and got it flush

Thanks for the sanity check. I saw another EG the other day and it had the same problem. My friend across the street, however, has it fitting perfectly.
