Default odb2 ecu on a odb 1 car ? ?

will it work ?

will the distributer and other stuff from a odb1 work on a odb2 ecu??

I have a 93 civic and i just swapped in a d16z6 , the guy i bought it from said it has a ecu from a 2000 (odb-2) (the car also had a d18y8 but i blew that motor)

also the check engine light bulb is removed from the dash, i never cared about it till now cause im having some serious issues with the car (wont idle right and bogs badly )

If I put the bulb back in , will I even be able to check for codes since the ecu is a odb 2?

could my probem be the odb2 ecu ??

Well, you should definitely put back the bulb for your CEL and see if its throwing codes if your car isn't running correctly.

So are you running the obd2 ECU right now? Because you sound like your asking if it will work, but your saying that your problem could be the obd2 ECU your running now?

I don't think the distributor should matter if you have an obd1 to obd2 conversion harness for your ECU.

You should still be able to pull the codes from the jumper by the ECU

the p28 ecu is OBD1........ not OBD2, so you have the right ecu.....you can rule that out!!! Put the bulb back in the cluster and flash your codes.....then we can help you further....

K guys bulb is back in , I also found the jumper(the previous owner cut off the blue clip and jet left the to wires hanging. I was orried at first.

My only codes are

19 Automatic transmission lockup control valve
Im 5spd but im assuming my ecu is from a auto

and 22 VTEC pressure valve

Could the vtech pressure valve be whats causeing my crazy ible and serious lag/ bogging?

From what i first thought it was is the feul pump, at least thats what it feels like....
