ECU is easy to install, you're prolly obd1, which came stock with the car. Anyway, obd0 is technically pre-obd and came on 88-91 civic **** and obd1 came in the egs, and obd2 came on EKs. Obd2 is less desirable because it is harder to tune. Obd1 is generally considered the best for tuning because of the tuners and support for it, though obd0 does work also. Anyway, you don't really need another ecu unless you're stock one is incorrect for the engine or you have stuff done that you plan on tuning for.
