I read a big article on it once. Basically it works to an extent. Don't expect to throw a bottle of 3 dollar octane boost in there and expect a miracle. You get what you pay for, the cheap **** isn't all that good. If I remember right it bumped up the octane one point or so. My dad used to use some quality stuff called DurAlt in his bikes and swore by it.

I wondered about this myslef a while ago and did a search on it. the basic consesus was that the stuff you buy in the bottle wasn't worth it and unless your engine needs the higher octane you should just fill 'er with 93/95 and call it good. If you want to get better performance out of simply pouring gas in, go with race gas but it comes with a price.

dont use it. just buy premium. the only reason why you might want to use it is if you have a bad tank of gas.

local dyno guy did tests, and considering temp, humidity, and what not there was no difference, and one of the smart people that was there, said that at most on a half tank it could up to .5 octane, deffinitely not worth it

ImportTuner tested this back in the day (when they were actually a good mag) they tested it on a stock skyline GTR R33, they added NOS octane booster (the offroad one) the car picked up 12-15whp for almost half of its powerband. realise though this is on a skyline that is meant to run on 100 octane gas. im guessing on its basline run the computer must have been detecting knock and pulling timing. the booster did not ADD power imo, it just allowed the power to happen by reducing knock.
