OBX LSD HELP stuck axel??
anyone have a problem with the axel getting stuck or filing a claim for a warranty with the actual company obx or just with the distributor. i call the company and they are rather mean to me. some guy named peter does not want to help me and told me it was my mechanics fault. i know distributors are responsible and so are manufacturers by law. anyone please post simular issues please need help asap my transmission is in peices.

On my integra, I had to pry pretty good to get the axle out of the stock diff. A new one went in like butter with grease.

Here's an idea for you. Why dont you replace the snapring on the axle, like honda
recommends? Next time it wont get stuck.
If its stuck just tap it out from the other side with a long punch. Just watch out,
because the through-hole in the middle of the LSD is only about a 1/2".

Not saying it is the shops fault , but they like to blame the parts to cover their own ***. More often than not its the shop not installing it right..But good luck with it!!

i dont even use the snap ring. ITs not like the axle can come out. I was under the impression it was there for manufacturing purposes to hold the axle in during assembly. I dont have them on my axles now and whoever replaced them before didnt use them either.

It has to do with the quality of heat treating between the OBX copy and Quaife. Splines will twist in the OBX but are bullet proof in the Quaife. One of several quality differences I noticed in taking apart the OBX for comparison.

Re: OBX LSD HELP stuck axel?? (earl)
do you think it would make a difference if the OBX was dissasswmbled and sent out for cryotreating. Its not that expensive and you'ld still be at half the price of a quaife.
