Default OBDIIb - OBDI conversion harness

here is my situation. I bought a OBDIIb to OBDI conversion harness last month and I bought a chipped P28 a couple weeks after that. Anyway I finally got around to converting to OBDI as part of my turbo setup. The female side of the plug goes right into the P28.

However

The male side does NOT mate up to the engine harness.

Here is a pic of a similar conversion harness...

The small plug on the engine harness side has the MAP, TPS, etc, so the car wont start right now. I know I am running a 5wire O2 right now but that wouldnt stop my car from starting. Am I missing something or do I have the wrong harness?

Default Re: OBDIIb - OBDI conversion harness (specv5150)

I think I have it figured out

I have a 2000 Honda Civic HX which everyone thinks....99-00 is OBD2b

HOWEVER

After searching here

http://www.hondata.com/techecuid.html

and here

http://www.ag-eng.com/ (go to the FAQS section, then the how to identify your ECu section)

And you will see that not ALL 2000 civics are OBDIIb. My HX is OBDII ("A" I guess for all intents and purposes)

My P2N has pinouts in the 1st slot, 3rd slot and 4th slot which designates OBDIIa (the 2nd slot would would used if you had an automatic tranny)

OBDIIb is 1st, 2nd and 3rd slot..with the 4th slot being empty (unless you have an automatic transmission). So I guess I know why one of my plugs doesnt line up and my car wont start. Lesson learned...dont beleive everything you read on the internet....even on the beloved Honda Tech
