OBDII vtec solenoid....interchangable?
Hey i have a 1999 SI and i have an OBDII b16. My vtec solenoid pressure switch or valve is throwing a code and i tried cleaning out the little filter on the solenoid but it is still throwing a code after resetting. So do i need a vtec solenoid specifically for an OBDII b16 from an em1 or can i use a solenoid off another car. Can i also use an OBDI solenoid? let me know from what cars i could use a solenoid from. thank you!

the soleniods off all b16's are the same, and will interchange with ease, but before you jump the gun, make sure you test it to ensure its bad, those things are not cheap.

well im getting a code 22 which is a vtec solenoid pressure valve....i cleaned out the solenoid metal screen for particles. put it back on, reset the code. once i go into vtec and make it stay there for like 5 seconds the code comes back on....and once the code is on and i go into vtec, my rev limiter bounces around in 7000 rpms..
so lately for the past 2 weeks ive only been driving to 5k rpms
how do you suggest i test that its bad?

Re: (kinkyintegra)
you do a resistance test on the switch, ill see if i can dig up the factory specs for that spool valve, but there is a way to test its functionality.
