OBDII to OBDI conv. 00'Si
I drive a 00 Si. with Apexi full exhaust,3 inch intake into cold air box, upgraded ignition, and soon to be Skunk2 Stg 3s with springs and retainers. Will I benefit from converting my OBDII to OBDI, is this even possible. I know i will want higher shift points with the new cams(9k). Will OBDI help me or hurt me?

Re: OBDII to OBDI conv. 00'Si (MAD SOHC)
Ive seen those conversion harnesses but I dont know anyone thats actually bought one off of ebay.Ive also seen alot of those "mugen" SPOON" style chips for like 20 bucks. They claim alot of horse power and the "chips" are kind of what inticed me to switch to OBDI.

JDM P30 and a Boomslang conversion harness is what i had when i ran a stock computer. Boomslang has the best **** out on the market bar none great quality and service Also it can only help you to get rid of some of those emission controls that they felt the need to put in there with OBDII
my P30 is for sale BTW 180shipped great computer for your little conversion you want. i might have one of my old boomslang harnesses to if your interested.

There are so many different ECU programs available (or one can be custom done) for you specific motor setup. Some programs work better on stock motors while other programs work better on different setups such as higher compression setups and high lift cams. It doesn't matter whether you use a P28, P30, P61, etc, because when you chip the ECU and jump it at J1, it re-routes the maps & settings and pull it from the chip. As for ECU harnesses, make sure you're using a harness that has it wired properly to work with the immobilizer.

Hey man, i have installed a conversion harness(from ebay) in a 97 dx coupe, and used a chipped p28 ecu to run the GSR i put in the car...there doesnt seem to be any problem with the harness, also i have a friend with a 2000 type r (MAD ITR 55)
and he also has converted to obdI using a conversion harness, and damn its real nice.
