What does the OBDI or OBDII do to your car and what is its purpose??? Does it help out your car or does it do something to keep your car slow??? or

it's in the ECU, purpose is emissions, basically i think 96' years and up have it. yea make it a little slower, makes your car hate mods hehe. for instance a aem cold air intake on a 94-96' gsr will dyno more hp than the obdII years.

but it all depends on the car, everyone is different.

OBD1 started in 92 and ran thru 95. 96-98 is OBD2. 99-up I believe is a newer more restrictive OBD2. But essentially it's all about getting the car to put out cleaner emissions.

simply stated, it's the # of o2 sensors in your car....although there is much more to it than that.

basically...all hondas 92 95 are OBD1...which are more tuner friendly cause the ecu recognizes modifications and relearns itself therefore giving you max hp...

all 96-98 hondas came with OBD2....does the same thing except your ecu dosent recognize as much.....a pain in the *** but still not as bad as 99+....

DragIIcivic.....i think all obd years came with the same amount of o2 sensors didnt they??????? I can swear on my 94 EX with the stock SOHC...it had 2 o2 sensors on it....
