Default OBDI civic or OBDII civic?

I currently own a 98 GS-R and am buying a civic as a daily driver. I know parts are readily interchangable between Integra and Civic models, but which model year should I look for? I was considering a EG (92-95) hatch, but won't I have to switch my motor from my GS-R from OBDII to OBDI? is that possible or should I get an EK (96-00) civic? also what about suspension parts, could I switch the parts from my teg, to the ek? I already have some performance shocks and springs (and possible the rest of the suspension to make way for type-r conversion on the GS-R) on my teg that I wanted to swap to the civic. I know this question is probably been asked a million times, but I would appreciate any info.... thanks in advance
