obd2b or obd2a p72 ecu for my GSR swap??

not getting too many views in the hybrid forum so i figured i'd try here...

I just got a 2000 GSR swap for my '97 sol and was wondering which ecu i should get for it. I know that both components are obd2 (my car and the motor) and that the 2000 gsr is i believe obd2b. So do I use the obd2b p72 ecu?

I'm thinking my car is obd2a given it's a 97, but does that matter? I will be using the stock wire harness that's already in my sol for the swap.

you'll want to use the ECU and wireing harness from the GSR motor. did you have a gsr swap in your sol before this upcoming swap?

nah, i still have the stock d16y7 in the car. i'll be using the stock wire harness in the sol and put in the additional wires that i'll need for the swap (iab's, knock, vtec).

just use the gsr harness and ecu. it will be a lot cheaper and easier.and besides the ECU and harness should come with the swap. well depending on where you get your swap.

nahh the swap didn't come with the gsr harness or ecu. i've been told i can use my stock harness obd2a i believe and so use an obd2a p72 ecu for the gsr swap?

yup. you will have to use the stock ecu unless you want to get the ITR ECU which i would suggest to find
