Default OBD2 ZC motor?

these things are all over ebay, they are described as replacements for the d16y7 engines and are stamped ZC. They also have y8 looking intake manifolds.

Anyone seen them or have and experiences with one?

well i dont really know anything about the one from ebay, but i got one from JDM Engine Depot, in Kearny nj, and so for its great... as for a "replacement, i dont kno if u could call it replacement, but cause its a diff motor, but everything just bolts up. its deff a bit quicker then the us d16, yet its still a single cam so dont expect a superior difference like a gsr, but its been great to me so far... oh and yea i do have the ZC in care you didnt notice...

interesting, I've never seen one of these. It has a y8 style intake manifold, as well as the y8 style oil pan.

yea everything is basickly the same as the y8.. all the parts can bolt right up... yet like i said, its still considered a completly different motor. theres also a duel cam, but i dont know anything about that one. as for this one, everything is the same, and if you mess something up on it, like a minor part, you can simply replace it with a y8 part. well unless you blow the block or something, then it wont be a ZC anymore

If I was going to replace the motor on an OBD2 Civic, I'd get the 3 stage VTEC motor and matching ECU.
